Why a "Retreat" Instead of a "Conference"?
Essentially, we are refocusing our gathering to reflect who we are as an organization. Although the conferences have been amazing, they take a great deal of work, and it is easy to lose focus of why we are all getting together in the first place. So, this year, we decided to regroup and focus our gathering on Faith, Fellowship and Encouragement. The word "Retreat" seemed to better reflect the direction we want to go.
Of course there is so much about our craft that we can learn from each other. From how to market ourselves and how to manage our businesses to becoming better writers and performers. That, however, is not why we gather. We gather to celebrate Our Lord and Savior and share insight and encouragement with others in this crazy industry.
It has been through a great deal of prayerful consideration that we have decided to focus on Faith, Fellowship and Encouragement.

Why So Last Minute?
This last year and a half has been pretty trying for everyone. With all of the planning and preparation needed for a full conference, and in light of the fact, that we simply did not know if a conference would be feasible this year at all, it was decided to not plan one. During several meetings in the past weeks, however, we realized that this is a time, more than ever, that we need each other. Although this means getting this put together in just a couple of months, we decided that it was more important to make it happen now than wait another year.
So, while this is not the full blown conference we are used to, we are calling this year's gathering a 'retreat'.

What health precautions are there?
We encourage each of you to take whatever precautions you feel the most comfortable with. We will not be enforcing masks. If you are not yet comfortable being in a crowd, we encourage you to forego this year's retreat, and keep an eye out for some other exciting things coming over the next year.
Will there be a Sunday Night Comedy Showcase?
This year, there is no comedy showcase scheduled. Although this has always been a great, fun way to see some of our member's talents, and a fun night of comedy, it is also something that requires a great deal of preparation and careful consideration. This year we are focusing on Faith, Fellowship and Encouragement!
Currently, our hosting Church, The Church at Pleasant Grove is considering doing a comedy night, but that is something they will organize for their members. Of course we will keep you posted on that, as CCA members will be welcome to come to that event as well.
